The vendor has been marketing the products through an EMEA-wide tour, targeting customers in areas such as digital content creation, oil and gas, engineering and computer-aided manufacturing.

HP said its new mobile and desktop workstations would address customer needs more directly.

“It’s very important we address from the start the customer needs. For example, oil and gas customers will have different needs than digital content creators,” Juergen Schlanke, director of workstations sales for EMEA at HP, said last week at an event in the UAE.

HP is using Intel’s latest four-core processors in its workstations, the Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5300 series and Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700, and claimed it was setting the industry standard for multi-core workstation computing.
