Luxury phone brand Caviar has paid tribute to the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, with a pure gold phone.

The ‘Gold Sheikh' phone is made of pure gold, with a hexagonal design decorated with engravings and diamonds, and will cost $37,670.

The phone features the falcon crest of the UAE, inset with precious stones and a contrasting green back colour. It weighs 300 grams.

Caviar said that the phone is designed for "modern sheikhs gifted with charisma, nobility and majesty of the powerful historical personality".

Only seven of the phones will be released to mark the seven Emirates of the UAE.

The new phone is part of Caviar's latest line, a collection of push-button ‘Tsarphones' - which pay tribute to great rulers and founders of states and dynasties.

The brand recreated the key power elements of the legendary leaders in the phones' designs: the founder of the Qin dynasty in China; Hung Kings in Vietnam; Sheikh Zayed ibn Sultan in the UAE; the Caliph Abu Bakr; King Charles the Great (Charlemagne) and Tsar Ivan the Terrible.

The designs of the phones include cultural symbols of each country, and include precious elements, volumetric emblems and hieroglyphs, national ornaments and patterns. For example, the model addressed to China is decorated with the image of the Sky dragon; the model inspired by Abu Bakr with the first Shahadah; and the phone named after Charles the Great is decorated with an image of the Fleur de Lys.

Pricing for phones in the Founders collection starts at $4,170.
