Dubai Police have reported the arrest of a former head of IT of a Dubai school, who resigned from his job and then deleted school data.

The unnamed Arab national was detained in Italy after Dubai Police issued a ‘Red Notice' for his arrest.

Police said that the IT professional, who worked for the school group for 16 years, apparently copied and then deleted school and student data, after he resigned from his job and left the country.

The data deletion disrupted school processes, according to the statement from Dubai Police. The school was later able to recover its files.

The school contacted Dubai Police, who issued the notice with Interpol. Dubai Police are now seeking his extradition from Italy.
