Omani students undergoing training with HCL Technologies Five students are undergoing training with HCL Technologies in India in the first phase of the program.

Ten Omani jobseekers have started training in mobile app development, as part of courses offered by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) and Indian IT major HCL Technologies.

The ten are graduates of the ITA's Sas Center of Mobile Apps Development, and will participate in the programs offered by the Digital Society Development Division of the ITA.

As a first phase, five of the graduates are undergoing three months training in India, in different branches of HCL.

The program targets jobseekers in the IT field, and focuses on providing participants with practical training to gain high-level work experience with international IT companies, as well as exposing them to different types of projects and work environments.

Based on project assigned, the three months internship program will enable participants to gain experience and skills in understanding of large IT Corporate work culture and experience working in IT, advanced mobile application programming skills, mobile application testing skills, mobile application deployment process, tools and services related to mobile apps and cloud computing automation and application integration.

The ITA has implemented this training program to increase the talent pool of Omanis in IT skills, and increase their engagement with global IT companies to meet the current and future ICT requirements of the Sultanate.
