A UAE startup is aiming to help companies get more out of Microsoft Office 365, through story-based video training.

Storyals, founded by entrepreneur Ulrika Hedlund, is offering a new concept for e-learning, with training videos that are intended to make it easier for staff to get to grips with Office 365 in ways that are relevant to their jobs.

"For organsations to achieve success in today's digital environment it is key for the workforce to adapt to a digital workspace," said Hedlund. "Many organisations subscribe to Office 365, which comes with great tools, yet most users don't know how to use and benefit from them.

"We show users in engaging ways how modern technology can be used in real-life situations," she added. "Most software training today focuses on features and not results. We tell a story, so users can really understand how this software can make them more efficient and effective in the digital workplace."

Hedlund said that she developed the idea ‘story-based tutorials' hence ‘Storyals' from her 20 years in the ICT industry including 10 years as a Productivity Advisor at Microsoft in Sweden and the UAE. Before Storyals, she founded Business Productivity, a consultancy to help organisations drive adoption of end user software.

Storyals has been spun out of Business Productivity, offering tutorials on a subscription basis. The tutorials cover a variety of topics allowing employers to tailor content according to need. Content can also be tailored to specific corporate branding and internal messaging. Storyals has already gained traction around the world, with high-profile companies in Sweden, the UAE and the USA.

"It is very time consuming and expensive for companies to develop this material, but with Storyals they can outsource everything to us, yet still get their own branding as well as that ‘wow' factor," said Hedlund.
