Regional VAD focuses on empowering partners and enablement programmes for solution providers

Ingram Micro pioneers solutions distribution Baghdadi says Ingram Micro has evolved its business to focus more on solutions distribution.

Regional value-added distributor (VAD) Ingram Micro was at the 38th edition of GITEX Technology Week where it promoted a solutions driven distribution model.

The distributor is promoted and showcased a range of solutions around cloud, cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, the company is promoting GPU solutions from the recently signed distribution deal with NVIDIA in the EMEA market.

Dr. Ali Baghdadi, senior vice president and CEO, Ingram Micro Middle East, Turkey and Africa region said: "We were at GITEX this year to demonstrate a range of solutions we have developed within the company that are relevant to the changes happening in the distribution channel and broader IT industry. We demonstrated to the channel during the show how the company is pioneering a solutions approach to distribution."

Baghdadi said Ingram Micro has evolved its business in the last three years and is now focusing on solutions distribution as opposed to just value adding. "Last year, Ingram Micro established its own Internet of Things (IoT) and AI Business Unit in the Middle East, the first of its kind in the region," he said. "It is a ‘Centre of Excellence', a solutions provider and a point of expertise for our channel partners. We put a lot of focus on developing our own ready and customised solutions for enterprises in the IoT and AI space."

Baghdadi added that the recently signed partnership with NVIDIA opens many new opportunities for Ingram Micro and the reseller community in today's data-driven business environment.

"At GITEX, we were urging partners to specialise as we continue to invest in them through training and technical enablement programmes that will help them to become solutions-driven businesses," he said.
