Digital music device maker ROLI has launched its next generation musical instruments in the Middle East.

The company produces ROLI Blocks, a modular hardware and software musical instrument, which has different add-on components to add new capabilities and effects.

The ROLI system includes the Seaboard, a keyboard device, Lightpad Block M drum and effects unit, and Loop block for recording and production. Music makers can add new touch-responsive modules to the system to add new effects, along with new software, sound effects and so on.

Sarah Yule, Director of Channel Sales, ROLI said: "We want to empower everyone to make music through next-generation instruments that are powerful, versatile, and approachable. We're delighted to introduce music-makers in the UAE to instruments that are acclaimed across the world."

The products are aimed at any level of musician, and are currently being used by Pharrell Williams, Grimes, RZA from Wu-Tang Clan, A.R. Rahman, and Hans Zimmer.

ROLI has partnered with Denaster and Mediacast for the UAE market, and its instruments are now on sale in Dubai Duty Free and Virgin Megastore.

ROLI's two newest products are the Seaboard Block - a smaller, more affordable model of the Seaboard - and the Lego-like Songmaker Kit, which includes the Seaboard Block, Lightpad Block M, Loop Block, software and case.
