We join Eline Pattyn, Channel Account Manager, Middle East & Africa at Barco as she shares how she spends her day at work.

Name: Eline Pattyn
Company: Barco
Job title: Channel Account Manager MEA
Years in the role: 2
Years at the company: 2
Previous companies: Daikin Europe

07:00 I usually wake up when my son of seven months wakes up, which is normally between 07:00 and 07:30 (if we are lucky!). We started recently offering him solid food.Every morning is fun at the breakfast table with my son and the floor covered in food.

08:45 I leave home for work at around 08:45 and I drive to our office in Dubai Media City.

09:00 I usually get to the office at around 09:00 and while the computer is starting up, I get my morning coffee and have a chat with colleagues already in the office.

09:15 I briefly open my mailbox to see, apart from the regular mails coming in, if there are urgent matters that need my attention. I then proceed to make my to do list for the week.

10:00 On Sunday, I like to organise my whole week and plan the regular meetings I have with the MEA distributors and ClickShare gold partners in the UAE. My colleague and I share the responsibility of managing the channel in MEA, with a focus on different countries across this vast region.

10:30 It’s my responsibility to grow the figures for our channel products like ClickShare, wePresent, Unisee in MEA, and that makes the role very diverse. Given that the role is so broad and covers a wide region, it’s key to set the right priorities and stick to that.

11:00 Planning is key to find a balance between recurring tasks like assessing the reseller applications from all over MEA  from partners that want to join our Connect Programme and welcoming guests to our Experience Centre where we showcase how Barco enables bright outcomes in meeting rooms.

12:30 When I’m in the office, I mostly take a break around 12:30 and sometimes it’s a quick lunch delivered in the office, sometimes we go to the food court close by and have some lunch with colleagues.

16:00 Thanks to the continuous effort of our channel, we doubled our ClickShare revenue last year, so we are on the right track. This means that our alliance enables them to be successful with Barco.

18:30 I like to exercise, but with the baby it’s not so easy to find sufficient time for it. But I do some specific post-natal classes and I would like to get back to boot camp as soon as possible.

20:00  When I come home, there is a smiley baby waiting for me so we spend the evening playing, babbling and crawling around the house. We like cooking as well, so it’s quality family time well spent.

23:00 After watching some TV or reading a book, we retire to bed between 10 and 11pm.
