GIGABYTE, Intel commemorate 40 years of processor evolution Intel has introduced a special Intel Core i7 8086K anniversary edition CPU as part of the 8th generation processors.

Motherboard and graphics cards maker GIGABYTE Technology Co Ltd, has said that its recently launched GIGABYTE and AORUS Z370 motherboards support Intel Core i7 8086K anniversary edition CPUs.

The vendor said the support is part of celebrating 40 years of the processor evolution and leadership in CPU technology.

Originally released on June 8th 1978, Intel‘s classic 16-bit 8086 processor was the first ever built on x86 architecture. With its three micron fabrication process, 5MHz operating speed, and 1MB memory, it set multiple industry standards at the time.

To pay tribute to this classic processor, Intel has introduced a special Intel Core i7 8086K anniversary edition CPU as part of the 8th generation.

"Since its establishment, GIGABYTE has developed a dynamic relationship with Intel to produce the very best in what PC technology has to offer," said Jackson Hsu, deputy director, Channel Solutions Product Development Division at GIGABYTE. "GIGABYTE was established after the initial release of the 8086 processor so now we are taking the lead in providing consumers with support for the high-end performing Intel Core i7 8086K processor. GIGABYTE and AORUS Z370 motherboards together with this processor are sure to deliver the best user experience."
