Emirates Specialty Hospital (ESH) has deployed a new state of the art network and communications infrastructure to deliver outstanding patient care.

Built and designed in collaboration with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, the converged IT infrastructure includes unified communications and collaboration, data networking and wireless solutions, offering a secure, robust and high performing hospital network.

TUQNIA, an authorized partner of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise in UAE, was responsible for the deployment services.

The new network is intended to support the multi-specialty healthcare services provider in meeting the UAE's Medical Tourism agenda, by establishing new benchmarks in international standards of healthcare.

ESH said it has an aggressive digital transformation agenda, powered by electronic medical records (EMRs), mobile applications, web based call centre and innovative healthcare technology. Deliverign these solutions requires a powerful converged network that work across and beyond ESH' facilities, to provide both medical professionals and patients secure remote access to critical applications and data.

The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise networking architecture was designed to support and seamlessly integrate with the hospital's next generation healthcare technology and cutting edge medical equipment. Through this Digital transformation, ESH staff and employees receive quicker access to Electronic Medical Records and mission critical applications to deliver better patient satisfaction.

In addition, the new highly scalable infrastructure provides the massive capacity and coverage required by the growing number of wireless clinical and non-clinical devices across the ESH network, while maximizing authentication and security.

The connected infrastructure helps ESH not only to improve the patient experience by providing them with a broad range of reliable and robust communication services, but also facilitates their nurses and other staff to collaborate quickly and on the move.

Designed to minimize IT complexity through a Unified Access solution that enables a ‘single pane of glass' management and visibility across the entire network - wired or wireless - resulted in 90% of the IT workload being streamlined. It is noteworthy to mention the single-vendor solution not only offers ESH with greater control over network status and operations, but generated CAPEX savings of over 35%, in less than six months.

Ala Atari, Managing Director & CEO, ESH said: "At Emirates Specialty Hospital (ESH), we strive to be one of the most modern hospital's in the Emirate of Dubai, offering the most advanced and innovative treatments to patients across the UAE and the wider region. The ability to enable instant access to the best available resources, sending the right information to the right person at the right time, is critical to our operations and our ability to extend timely services and treatments to our patients. Together with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, we have successfully built the network infrastructure to do justice to our investments in next generation technology, enabling us to deliver 24/7 access to the critical care and information that our patients need.  The solution has helped us foster a powerful environment for collaboration and information exchange, while ensuring that our environment stay secure and available at all times."

Amr El Hatter, Vertical Sales Manager - Healthcare, UAE & Oman, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise commented: "The need to enable real time communications and collaboration is very critical for healthcare industry, where split second decisions can help to save lives and improve longevity.
