Etisalat introduces pay-per-minute video streaming The Play On Demand service gives users more control over how they consume their data, says El Khouly.

Etisalat will offer a new pay-per-minute streaming video service for its mobile subscribers.

The Play on Demand service, which is available to both pre- and postpaid customers, allows unlimited video streaming for 5 fils per minute.

The service is intended to give users the convenience of streaming videos with pay per minute without consumer their data plan allowance.

Customers will be able to stream video at speeds up to 3Mbps optimized for high definition, reducing the reliance on finding a wireless network to watch video.

Khaled Elkhouly, chief consumer officer, Etisalat, said: "The launch of ‘Play on Demand' service for our postpaid and prepaid customers now gives them more control of data usage, while at the same time giving them the freedom to enjoy watching their favourite online content on the go. In the new offer, subscribers can break free from their mobile data limits and pay by the minute for streaming videos giving them transparency and flexibility with their data plans. Etisalat will continue to bring innovation for customers by launching services that address their changing dynamic requirements."

Users will be able to start and stop their unlimited data sessions by dialling *800# or via the Etisalat UAE mobile app.
