Google's parent company Alphabet Inc. is reportedly building a technology hub in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with oil giant Saudi Aramco.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that people familiar with the matter said the two companies will pair up, however the possible joint venture is only in a discussion phase.

The details of the technology hub are not clear, such as whose data the centres will house or who would control them. The WSJ also cited that whilst the size of the project is unclear, it is highly likely it will be big enough to be listed on Saudi Arabia's stock exchange.

Currently, Apple and Amazon are in licensing discussions with Saudi Arabia as part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's push digital change in the kingdom.
