Staying the course Fadi Moubarak, VP for Channels, Avaya International.

For our partners, staying with us for the past 10 months has been a big commitment: competitors have tried to spread FUD that we wouldn't be around long-term, and tried relentlessly to impact how we are seen in the market.

The announcement this week that we will definitely exit Chapter 11 must therefore come as a relief to even the most loyal of our partners. To all those many, many partners who stayed the course, I can only say thank you.

Going forward, partners will see that their faith is definitely going to be rewarded. We've already rewarded partners' commitment with a loyalty programme, and we believe they will really reap the benefits now. Once our financial restructuring is completed, we will have an extra $300m in cash available each year, which will enable us to substantially boost our investment in R&D, operations and mergers and acquisitions.

We've also restructured our business operations, so today it's easier than ever for partners to do business with us. And we will become a public company, showing that investors are also banking on Avaya's success.

All of these developments will lead to one outcome: growth for us and for our partners and customers. The FUD factor is definitely going the other way - competitors that couldn't beat us when we were restrained by Chapter 11 know that the shackles are now off, and we are stronger than ever.

We have a clear strategy to grow our business and the ability to make long-term investments. Our greater investment in technology means that we will be able to bring solutions to market faster than ever before - and we will keep working with partners to meet the transforming needs of our customers.

We're also rolling out initiatives to enhance existing benefits for partners and add new ones, so there are more ways that partners can benefit from working us. The message to the channel is clear: the more you work with Avaya, the more you will be rewarded.

Again, I have to thank all those in our partner community that stayed loyal to us in the difficult times. It may have seemed a hard choice at times, but it's about to pay off.
