Saudi Arabia authorities have discovered an ‘advanced' wave of cyber threats attacking the government's computers.

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) revealed that hackers injected the ‘Powershell' malware to cause disruption using email phishing techniques.

In a statement, the NCSC said: "The NCSC has detected a new Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) that is targeting Saudi Arabia."

The government agency did not comment on the source of the attack or which government bodies have been affected.
