IKEA has warned its UAE customers of a message claiming they can win a gift voucher to mark the company's 75th anniversary.

The gift voucher, worth $500, is of course too good to be true and now IKEA has taken to Facebook to warn its customers to avoid being scammed.

The message circulating says: "Hey !!, IKEA is giving away a free voucher of $500 ! To celebrate its 75th birthday, you can get your free Voucher too! Don't' miss it, click here to get your free $500 Voucher from IKEA: http://www.ikea.com /Voucher  enjoy, and thanks me later!."

IKEA issued a statement on Facebook warning users to be aware of fake promotions.

"IKEA is aware of a fraudulent message being circulated through whatsapp asking for personal information in promise of a free gift. We would like to inform you that this is a false promotion that has nothing to do with IKEA. Please do not participate or share any personal information with these Phishing scams."

If it's too good to be true, it mostly likely is. You've been warned!
