UAE FAIC plans to use AI in identity services Al Ghafli: The UAE AI strategy will be a unprecedented shift in government work.

The UAE Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has announced plans to develop AI to support its work, in line with the newly-announced UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence.

HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli, Director General of FAIC, the new name for the Emirates Identity Authority, welcomed the national strategy, and said that FAIC is also looking at how it can integrate AI in its operations.

Dr Al Ghafli described the AI strategy as an unprecedented shift in the development of government work, and said that the strategy is an important step towards long-term planning and and the achievement of the UAE's goals.

The FAIC will focus on the use of artificial intelligence tools in devising new techniques to identify, authenticate and authenticate individuals; as well training of personnel to develop the technology and integrate it into smart solutions to provide services to users.
