Project management and supply chain specialist ANHAM has moved its on-premise SAP deployment to the cloud, to improve performance and optimize costs.

The Dubai-based company moved its mission-critical SAP production system workloads to Microsoft Azure, with support and expertise from Cognizant.

Moving systems to the cloud has allowed ANHAM to improve the monitoring, availability and performance of its IT infrastructure, optimize the capital and operating costs of running it, and strengthen its compliance with NIST Information Security Standards.

Cognizant leveraged its innovative service delivery model and SAP Cloud Assessment and Transformation (cCAT) Framework to enable ANHAM to migrate to the cloud with no business disruption. Hosting SAP applications on the cloud has provided ANHAM with a digital foundation to deepen business insights, unlock new opportunities, and build new business models.

Claudiu Iarca, Chief Information Officer, ANHAM FZCO said: "Cognizant's robust consulting, domain and transformation capabilities, deep understanding of our business and technology environment, and strong alliances with Microsoft and SAP have enabled us to standardize and modernize our IT infrastructure with a digital core, while enhancing business continuity. We expect to reduce our annual SAP infrastructure spend by at least 20% to start with, and are confident that this initiative will deliver a number of other far-reaching operational and financial benefits, helping us provide richer, more meaningful customer experiences."

ANHAM provides multi-modal project management, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, and fleet, asset and facilities management solutions in the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Europe.

"We are pleased to be enabling large enterprises such as ANHAM FZCO to accelerate their digital journeys with agile, secure, and resilient cloud deployments," said Rajesh Balaji Ramachandran, Global Delivery Leader for Enterprise Application Services at Cognizant. "By cloud-enabling its IT infrastructure, ANHAM will be able to take advantage of new technologies and business models at little or no capital expense. We have been able to successfully implement this complex SAP migration program with our proven SAP cloud transformation process, frameworks, tools and accelerators. A key highlight has been the use of automation to reduce manual effort by more than 30%. This initiative has helped ANHAM to unlock the power of its technology environment in line with industry-leading standards of performance, cost and flexibility."

"Cognizant brings strong capabilities and resources to help companies like ANHAM more effectively respond to market changes using Microsoft Azure's scalable cloud services across the globe," said Corey Sanders, partner director, Microsoft Azure. "As companies look to invest in the cloud, they benefit from the productivity, intelligence and hybrid capabilities of the trusted Azure cloud platform."
