Mobile Doctors launches health management app Ahmed Awada: it’s about changing human behaviour.

Mobile Doctors, a population health management app has officially launched at GITEX Technology Week.

The solution offers solutions for patients under three categories: healthy, acute and chronic, with different services based on requirements.

Benefits include 24-7 immediate access to 90 trained and DHA-certified doctors, a home virtual clinic, tele-monitoring and lab management at home among others. Repeat prescriptions, referrals to in-network provider, appointment booking and medication delivery, where available.

The aim is to help patients avoid unnecessary outpatient visits and reduce healthcare costs.

Mobile Doctors chief technology officer Ahmed Awada explained: "At the end of the day, it's not a technology solution, it's not a healthcare solution, it's about changing human behaviour. According to the American Medical Association, 70% of non life threatening conditions can be solved by speaking to a doctor over the phone, and according to a GCC study, 90% of 9-9-9 calls are non-emergency cases. So why are patients calling the emergency number? It's because they don't have urgent access, they only have emergency access. So if the clinics are closed, people head to the emergency room even though it's not an emergency. What we're trying to provide is immediate access to solve these 70% non-life threatening conditions that could be resolved by speaking to a doctor on the phone."

Mobile Doctors is covered by insurance companies, include AXA, Dubai Insurance and Metlife.
