The Galaxy Note series is about to get a fresh new look, as reports claim that Samsung may introduce a bendable phone in 2018.

Samsung has only just released the Galaxy Note8 and after the disastrous Galaxy Note7 saga, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer is on a mission to launch a new concept device.

Dong-jin Koh, president of mobile business at Samsung Electronics announced that the company is aiming to release a smartphone with a bendable display next year.

He told reporters: "As the head of the business, I can say our current goal is next year. When we can overcome some problems for sure, we will launch the product.

"We are digging thoroughly into several issues we must overcome, as we don't want to just make a few, sell a few and be done. We want to hear that Samsung made a very good product. We have a plan to adopt a foldable display in our roadmap."

However Koh did reveal that as there are some challenges with the bendable feature, the release date will be pushed back if unresolved.
