Sporting fans can now receive real-time, personalised sporting updates and share their thoughts on a new app called 10.

The app, which launched in the UAE to coincide with the return of the English Premier League, offers users personalised news and scores in real-time.

Additionally, the fun and safe platform allows fans to share their reactions and emotions about sporting events that they are interested in. Whilst conversing with friends, users can share and edit pictures and videos by adding sporting stickers and filters.

Andy Meikle, founder of 10, said: "Since the launch of 10 we have seen thousands of people already download and use the app. Many sports apps allow you to stay updated with news and scores, but they're very passive; they lack a fun or social element. Alternatively, there are many social apps, which lack relevant sports information to drive the conversation, so our platform allows fans around the world to quickly get their updates and share the emotion of sport with others.

"Our traction in the market so far has been strong and it's very much a word-of-mouth success story as we see people already sharing it with their friends and recommending others to sign up and download. There are sports fans everywhere and they are very passionate; the excitement around 10 comes from easily being able to share their emotion and sports content with others."

Since the launch of app, 10 has achieved over 1,800 unique users and a total of 57,400 session, with more than 49,000 messages being sent. On average, users are spending up to two minutes each session on the app and using it at least 8 times a day during the week and 13 at the weekend, although some users use the app as much as 5 hours a day.

Meikle added: "The level of smartphone penetration and drive for innovation in Dubai coupled with sports fans' passion and social media usage in the region, makes it the perfect place to launch the innovative sports app."

The free app is now available on iOS and Android.
