Focusing its latest efforts on delivering novel digital services to Saudi Arabian citizens at an rapid pace, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA) has revealed it is integrating cloud-based solutions from VMware and Dell EMC.

Comprising of VMware vRealize Suite cloud management platform, a component of Dell EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud, the new solution is set to be introduced at the Municipal Information Center.

Created to deliver digital services to citizens and residents across Saudi Arabia, the IT-as-a-Service enhancements will help speed up delivery of services by 200%, while also making them 30% more affordable.

Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah, director, Municipal Information Center, MOMRA, said: "Working with VMware and Dell EMC, we now have a cloud platform for the rapid delivery of Municipal digital services to business and citizens across Saudi Arabia both today and tomorrow.

"As a result of our digital transformation, MOMRA is quickly executing on the government's National Transformation Program 2020 in line with Saudi Vision 2030, and providing world-class government services."

Commenting on the development, Eng. Majed Almubbadel, IT Infrastructure manager, Municipal Information Center, MOMRA, added: "A complete, secure and centralised private cloud management platform was the top priority and thanks to VMware and Dell EMC, we've built it. 

"We're confident in maintaining service availability, service automation and service security. Our municipalities no longer have to focus on infrastructure and operational matters, but instead on the delivery of services to enhance the lives of our citizens and residents."

Accessible over 16 regional and 269 local municipalities, MOMRA offers a variety services for citizens and residents, which includes urban planning, development of settlements, environmental protection and public health.
