Samsung is reportedly working on its own version of wireless headphones that will feature its virtual assistant Bixby Voice.

According to a report from Korean-language tech publication Etnews, the Bixby-powered headphones could possibly mirror Apple's AirPods, in that it has the potential to be wireless and also feature a virtual assistant.

The earset is said to feature a ‘Noise Blocking' technology to improve the quality of calls by blocking out every other noise apart from the users. Furthermore, with Bixby Voice, users can ask it questions without having to use the compatible device.

The product may possibly be announced in September, along with the Galaxy Note 8, however it is unclear if the earset will be sold with the device or sold separately.

Samsung has yet to confirm whether this is true, but with a month to go until the Galaxy Note 8 announcement, it is most likely Samsung will reveal all then.

Samsung's other Bixby-powered product is a smart speaker, however this has now been dropped due to speculation that the company cannot compete in a crowded market, citing Amazon as a competitor.

A source close to the matter said to the Korean Herald: "Samsung currently does not view Al speakers as marketable, as the global market is already dominated by unbeatable Amazon and the Korean market is too small to make profits."
