Dubai Municipality has launched a new Aerial Survey service which will provide drone surveys to private sector companies.

The service will offer aerial photographic maps (orthophotos) high resolution topographic maps, contour maps,  and 3D points for large-scale projects for use by real estate companies and other businesses that require aerial surveys.

The new service is intended to provide high quality imaging to companies, which use drones to create the surveys much more quickly than conventional means.

The Survey Department has also launched a smart map app ‘Kharetati' (My Map), which will allow customers to request and access the Municipality's land maps via mobile device. The app is intended to help to improve the speed at which maps can be requested and accessed, and eliminate the need for government agencies to be involved in the approvals application.
