Amazon is reportedly working on its own mobile messaging app dubbed Anytime, and the platform could possibly rival the likes of WhatsApp, Apple's iMessage and Facebook Messenger.

According to a report by AFTV News, the retail giant has begun surveying its customers about what features are most important to them. The survey does not provide any concrete details about Anytime, however it does focus on possible features, such as voice and video calls, photo sharing, filters for pictures and videos business specific chats and adding stickers and GIFs.

It seems that Amazon is creating an all-in-one messaging platform that includes features from other social messaging platforms, such as Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. It is unclear what the messaging platform will be used for, however it will most likely be linked to commerce.

This is not the first time Amazon has entered the communications market as this year it launched Chime, a video conferencing app for business users.
