A report has claimed that Apple and Google and pairing up to allow iPhone users replace Siri with Google Assistant.

If the report is true it means Google Assistant can become the default virtual assistant option on Apple's upcoming phones - iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and iPhone 8.

Apple's iOS users can currently download a third-party app to use Google Assistant, and similar to Siri, the user can request information.

Despite the report, there is no evidence that this may be the case. Particularly because tech giants involved in developing voice assistants naturally want to promote their own and within their own product lines.

Apple of course has Siri which can now be seen in its smart speaker HomePod, Amazon has Alexa, Google has Google Assistant, Microsoft's Harman Kardon Invoke features Cortana, and Samsung is rumoured to be working on its own smart speaker what will feature Bixby.
