Credence Security moves to galvanise the regional channel Scott says Credence has launched its Forensics Division and wants to cement offerings from this business unit.

Specialist IT security solutions distributor Credence Security, has said it participated at the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC) 2017 to spur channel partners and raise awareness around the new vendors it has signed on board.

According to Credence Security, this is the third year it is making an appearance at GISEC.

Garreth Scott, sales director, Credence Security, said the company is a huge supporter of the event because it brings a lot of value to the business and the partner ecosystem. "For us, this year is about bringing more to the region as we have a number of new vendors on board," he said.

Scott said the company has launched its Forensics Division and has gone from one vendor in the last eight years, which is Access Data and now has nine vendors represented in the forensics space. "For us it was really important to be at GISEC to showcase the vendors we have in the forensics space because that's what customers have been asking for," he said. The customers said to us one vendor is great as they are the leader in the market but what about other players in this space? So we have gone out to bring leading vendors and we have brought them here to the Middle East."

He said there is a lot of competition because there are more vendors, partners and distribution looking to grow market share. "I think it's all about ensuring the right product at the right price and most importantly that your vendors deliver as much as possible at the right price point," he said. "So for us, we don't believe in having competition within our own portfolio so when we go to talk to our channel community, we go with what we feel are leading products that cover the full lifecycle."

Scott pointed out that Credence will continue to make sure that its partners get the margin that they need to support their customers and that's why the company is providing end-to-end solutions. "As a pan-EMEA distributor, we have offices across Europe, Middle East, Africa and India," he said. "Obviously that's a large territory but our focus in particular this year is in KSA, UAE, Qatar, Oman and Egypt."

He pointed out that within the broader Middle East and adjacent regions, India has always been strong for Credence as well as East, West and sub-Saharan Africa. "In Europe we are looking at the UK, Germany, France and Sweden as our predominant focus," he added.

Scott pointed out that the main aim of being at GISEC 2017 was to show that the company is committed to the market and to get the vendors to be seen by channel partners and their end user customers. "The show also provided us with a platform to demonstrate to customers that we are able to provide end-to-end solutions and I believe we have achieved what we wanted to achieve at this year's show," he said.

Looking ahead to Q3 and Q4 Scott said the focus will be on closing and completing PoCs, and competing for tenders. "It will be about execution and how we can work closely with our partners making sure that they are skilled and able to deliver the end to end solutions.
