LinkedIn, a global professional network, has recently announced the appointment of Ziad Rahhal as head of Marketing Solutions for the MENA region.

Bringing over a decade of experience working in sales for both online and mobile media, Rahhal previously held a position with Nimbuzz B.V, developer of the cross-platform instant messaging app, Nimbuzz. Additionally, Rahhal has been worked on a number of projects across a number of countries in region, such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, and Lebanon.

Commenting on his appointment, Rahal said, "With the recent announcement of the 500 million milestone globally, it really couldn't be a better time to join LinkedIn and I am excited to be part of the team."

He added: "The recently launched features make it even easier for brands to build their presence, reach the right audiences, and then measure programs to optimize their impact. In the complex world of B2B buying, we are looking to help brands not only engage with professionals, but drive, and convert leads. It's exciting to join a platform leading in this field."

In April 2017, the professional social media network launched two new products, expanding the capabilities of the platform. These consist of Matched Audiences, a set of new targeting capabilities designed specifically for brands, as well as Lead Gen Forms, which makes it easier for businesses to generate leads from sponsored content on mobile devices.

Additionally, LinkedIn announced in April that it had crossed the 500 million members milestone across 200 countries. Specifically within the MENA region, it holds over 22 million members.
