Channel ME Awards 2017 honour partner excellence More than 380 IT leaders from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) channel attended the tenth Channel Middle East Awards held at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina.

The accomplishments of the Middle East IT channel industry were celebrated last night at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, as Channel Middle East held the tenth edition of its annual awards.

The event, held alongside a gala dinner, attracted over 380 IT leaders from the vendor, distributor, reseller and retailer community across the Gulf region, where they were honoured for their stellar performances and dedication to the development of the regional channel over the last 12 months.

Twenty-two awards were presented and they recognised the companies, partner programmes and individuals that have done the most to build and improve the well-being of the regional IT channel sector.

Highlights of the awards included Arun Chawla, CEO at Dubai-based distributor Trigon LLC, who won the Channel Executive of the Year.

In the reseller categories, New Trend Computer Networks LLC won the SMB Reseller of the Year, while Gulf Business Machines lifted the Systems Integrator of the Year for the second year in a row. Sharaf DG was this year's Power Retailer of the Year, while Al Jammaz Distribution took the gong for Value Added Distributor of the Year for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In the reader-voted categories, selected via online polling by the readers of Channel Middle East, Channel Saudi Arabia and ITP.net, D-Link Middle East won the Best Vendor Channel Programme for its D-Link Partner Programme, with Arrow ECS scooping Best Distributor Channel Programme for its Aim Higher with Arrow programme.

In another tightly contested category of Value-Added Distributor of the Year, Aptec - an Ingram Micro company was the winner while the IT Distributor of the Year - (Broadline Products) was won by Asbis Middle East.

Shams Hasan, enterprise marketing manager at Dell EMC delivered the only keynote address and encouraged channel partners in the region to embrace change in a rapidly shifting technology market.

NAS Vendor of the Year - QNAP

IT Distributor of the Year - (Broadline Products) - Asbis Middle East

Value-Added Distributor of the Year - (Value Solutions) - Aptec - an Ingram Micro company

Retail Distributor of the Year - Logicom

Value Added Distributor for KSA - Al Jammaz Distribution

Systems Integrator of the Year - Gulf Business Machines

Power Retailer of the Year - Sharaf DG

SMB Reseller of the Year - New Trend Computer Networks LLC

Training Provider of the Year - Cisco Networking Academy

Best Vendor Channel Programme of the Year - D-Link Partner Programme

Best Distributor Channel Programme of the Year - Arrow ECS' - Aim Higher with Arrow Programme

Outstanding Contribution to the Middle East Channel - Havier Haddad, Senior Channel Director, Middle East, Turkey and Africa, Dell EMC
