If you are thinking of switching from an Apple device to an Android platform but think it's impossible, think again.

With the latest Samsung Galaxy S8, many Apple users may have considered the switch. If you are one of them, here is what you will need to do.

You will need both Samsung and Apple devices, and the iPhone device must be running on iOS 9 and above, a computer with Samsung's Smart Switch software, a Lightning cable and a USB-C cable.

Before you begin, ensure the iPhone is backed up on iTunes and Samsung's Smart Switch software is up-to-date.

Here is a step-to-step guide on how to do it:

1 Run Samsung's Smart Switch software and connect the Galaxy S8 using the USB-C cable.

2 Once the device is recognised, click on the ‘Restore' option.

3 Click on ‘Select a different backup'.

4 Click on the drop down menu and select ‘iTunes backup data'.

5 Select the backup you wish to restore and click on ‘Confirm'.

6 Select ‘Restore now'.

7 Once completed, select ‘Confirm' and discount the Samsung device.
