Restrata, a safety and security consultancy and training services company, recently announced the appointment of David Nicholls as vice president of Situational Awareness and Telematics (SA&T).

Previously serving as the head of sales and marketing for MiX Telematics in Dubai, where he aided in diversifying the business from its core Oil & Gas market and growing the company's international presence, Nicholls is set to take over the helm of Restrata's technology division in Dubai.

Botan Osman, managing director of Restrata, said: "I am thrilled to welcome David on board. His technical know-how, coupled with his extensive track record in strategic deal making and business development makes him a valuable addition to the team.

"With technology constantly evolving, it's vital that we stay one step ahead of the game to ensure we are bringing the most advanced, cost-effective and reliable products and tools to our clients, no matter where they are in the world.

"We are unique in our ability to consult, design, deliver, manage and outsource to meet client requirements, and with David's knowledge and experience, I am confident that we can grow our technology division further, breaking into emerging markets and regions."

In his new role, Nicholls will lead a mixed team of sales, channel management and technical industry experts, who collectively will work to deliver a range of safety and security services across the Middle East region.

These services will include consultancy, auditing and risk assessments, training and workforce development, continuity management, safe journey and HSE management, to name a few.

Commenting on his appointment, Nicholls said: "I am honoured and excited to take on this challenging new role. This is a very exciting time for Restrata and I look forward to the opportunity to co-ordinate our efforts across the globe to ensure we continue to deliver cost-effective safety and security services to our clients'."
