Abu Dhabi and Federal Government IT professionals were honoured last night, at the presentation dinner for the .GOV Awards for Abu Dhabi & Federal.

The .GOV Awards are presented to the leading IT teams and individuals in Abu Dhabi and Federal Government entities for outstanding projects and initiatives in the field of public sector IT, and for contributions to the progress of technology adoption for government.

Sixteen awards were presented, to honour projects in areas including mobile apps, G2x services, Green IT, infrastructure and applications. The awards also honoured the leading teams and IT professionals working in government ICT.

Khawla Salem Al Qubaisi, was awarded the government it leader of the year award, for her achievements as IT Director of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, and in leading the digital transformation of ADJD.

Majeda Al Marzouqi, Department of Municipal Affairs & Transport, won the award for Young IT Professional of the Year, in recognition of her hard work as Section Head Operational And Technical Support, in leading many application projects and ensuring quality of applications for DMAT.

In the awards to recognise the leading IT teams in the public sector, the General Civil Aviation Authority won the award for the Federal Government IT Team of the Year, while the Technical Planning Department of Abu Dhabi Municipality took home the award for Abu Dhabi Government IT Team of the Year.

The Department of Municipal Affairs & Transport (DMAT) won a special award, the Innovation in Government Award, for its project to virtualise it's Strategic Transportation Evaluation & Assessment Model (STEAM), a complex traffic modelling solution.

The awards were presented at a gala dinner held last night at the Rosewood Hotel, Abu Dhabi, held for an audience of government IT professionals and private sector experts.
