Microsoft online services including Hotmail and Xbox Live are currently unavailable to many users - the second such outage in just two weeks.

The current disruption is preventing users from accessing almost all of Microsoft's online services, including Skype, email, OneDrive storage and Office 365.

On 7th March, a large number of users were also locked out of Microsoft online services following a fault with Microsoft's authentication servers.

The latest outage is mainly affecting users in Europe and North America at present, with some reports from the Middle East.

A Microsoft support Twitter account said the company is "working hard" to resolve the issue.

Updated: Microsoft appears to have fixed the problems after around six hours of outage, although OneDrive authentication is still causing problems to some users.
