Global technology provider Cisco has revealed that it will be once again participating at the annual QITCOM 2017.

Now in its fourth edition, the annual digital exhibition and conference, organised by Qatar's Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC), will be held at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

Running from the 6 - 8 March, 2017, in Doha, Qatar, and under the theme Qatar - Towards a Smart Future, this year's iteration of QITCOM will focus on digitalisation in the public sector, transport, health, environment, sports and also digital clusters.

Ziad Salameh, managing director and general manager of the West Region, Cisco Middle East, commented "It is critical for governments in the region to be ahead of the technology curve and set the pace for both public sector and private sector organisations to match, thereby yielding huge improvements in citizen services and citizen satisfaction."

"Cisco is pleased to support MOTC in its journey to achieve Qatar's National Vision 2030 and to help boost its digital transformation and smart technology efforts towards a smart future."

Cisco is expected to showcase its latest offerings in Internet-of-Things (IoT) and security solutions at the stand of its partner, Salam Technology, which is the strategic sponsor of QITCOM. Additionally, Cisco will be taking part in a number of knowledge sharing sessions and workshops at the ‘Digital Masrah.'

The company will also bring a number of subject matter experts to the annual event to discuss the latest challenges in digitisation. This includes the participation of Boorsma, director of Internet of Things and City Digitization at Cisco North Europe, who is set to participate in a panel discussion on the subject of Digital Clusters as Ecosystems to Enable Innovation.
