Akamai unveils new addition to web security solution

The Web Application Protection adds new capabilities to the company’s existing Kona Site Defender Solution.

Akami Technologies, a firm specialised in Content Delivery Network (CDN) services, has announced the launch of Web Application Protector, the latest addition to the company's existing Kona Site Defender.

The new improvements give end-users improved capabilities in monitoring the security of their respective online businesses. When coupled with Kona Site Defender, the enhancements delivery better protection against threats targeting Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

Josh Shaul, vice president, Web Security Product Management, Akamai, said: "Change is the only constant in the threat landscape, and anyone doing business on the web needs to be prepared to adjust.

"Our Web Security Solutions are designed specifically to give customers and partners the tools they need to protect their web sites and applications from the myriad threats facing them every day." 

The platforms full features include Application Layer Protections, DDoS Protections, Custom Rules, and is fundamentally designed from the ground up to be geared for Self-Service.
