Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched a new artificial intelligence chatbot, to assist with customer enquiries.

The chatbot, called Rammas, is currently active on DEWA's Facebook page, where it will field questions from customers, and use learning and analytics to improve responses and provide accurate assistance to users.

The AI technology has initially been deployed on Facebook, with plans to roll out to other social media platforms in future.

In October, Smart Dubai and the Dubai Department of Economic Development launched an AI customer service using IBM's Watson cognitive computing system. The ‘Saad' service allows users from the business community to ask questions and get up-to-date answers on business licensing and registration in Dubai processes.
