Apple confirms free iPhone 6S battery replacement
A number of iPhone 6S owners complained that their handsets shutdown unexpectedly
Apple has announced it is offering free battery replacements for certain iPhone 6S handsets due to power problems.
It had been reported, by the China Consumers Association, that a select few of the handsets have been shutting down unexpectedly despite the devices having battery life.
Apple reacted to these complaints and released in a statement that a small number of handsets manufactured between September and October 2015 are affected, however the iPhone giant said it is not a safety issue.
The statement said: "Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This isn't a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured in September and October 2015."
Despite Chinese consumer group reporting the problem, Apple has stated that the issue affects iPhone 6S handsets across the globe and that all these handsets can be replaced. Apple did say that handsets with exterior damage, such as cracked screens, must be fixed first.
