Honeywell, a US-based provider of commercial, consumer products, and engineering services, has announced a collaboration with HID Global, a provider of secure identity solutions.

As per the agreement, Honeywell Building Solutions will integrate HID technology into its Honeywell Vector Occupant App. Focusing on mobile access, the app enables building occupants to utilise their mobile devices for card-free access to different parts of a structure or facility.

Honeywell also utilised integration workshops and testing offered through HID Professional Services. Furthermore, Honeywell used HID Seos credential technology and software developer kits (SDKs) to aid in creating the customised mobile access solution supporting its occupant app.

The app itself is equipped with HID Global's mobile access system, which is designed to oversee the management of trusted IDs for building administrators and providing more control over credential transactions.

Harm Radstaak, vice president and managing director of the Physical Access Control Solutions business with HID Global, said: "HID Global shares a commitment with Honeywell to deliver a more satisfying, mobile-centric experience in smart buildings.

"We look forward to exploring opportunities with Honeywell to extend the benefits of using trusted identities on mobile devices for a variety of building services and applications."
