F5 Networks emphasises growing security credentials
The vendor showcased Silverline, a suite of managed, cloud-based security services that let organisations rapidly deploy enterprise-grade app services
GITEX Technology Week 2016 saw F5 Networks highlight how applications are more vital to business performance, security and availability.
"This year's GITEX was incredibly busy for F5 Networks and the number one reason for that was the changing cyber security threat landscape, one of the major themes for us and indeed the entire show," said Diego Arrabal, vice president, MEA at F5 Networks.
"The traditional perimeter is dissolving and run-of-the-mill security strategies are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Today the world is entirely different. Workers are mobile, applications are in the cloud, and we are connecting billions of devices to our networks."
At GITEX, F5 prominently showcased application-focused access and identity services, as well as protection solutions that cover the entire network stack. This, according to the security vendor included F5 DDoS Hybrid Defender, F5 SSL Orchestrator, and fraud prevention products F5 WebSafe and F5 MobileSafe.
Hybrid cloud deployment also featured strongly on F5's GITEX agenda and the company highlighted Silverline, a suite of managed, cloud-based security services that let organisations rapidly deploy enterprise-grade app services across hybrid environments, without the need for additional or upfront investments in IT infrastructure and support. The suite includes DDoS protection and web application firewall services.
"Silverline efficiently and cost-effectively harnesses the power of the cloud while avoiding unplanned outages and paving the way for new innovations and profit," added Arrabal.
