Performance minded connectivity for IoT Chu says that the IoT concept is driving NETGEAR’s future growth.

What is your company's core business focus and how does it define itself?

Netgear is a global networking company that delivers innovative products to consumers, businesses and service providers. The company's products are built on a variety of proven technologies such as wireless (WiFi and LTE), Ethernet and powerline, with a focus on reliability and ease-of-use. The product line consists of wired and wireless devices that enable networking, broadband access and network connectivity.

Does your company have any regional expansion plans on the cards?
Yes we are definitely looking at expansion plans within the region however these would be done on a per country basis.

 

How does your company differentiate its business from the competition?

Netgear designs and manufacturers innovative networking products that connect people, power businesses, and advance the way we live. With a focus on making our products easy to use while at the same time providing powerful and smart networking solutions, Netgear is the leading provider of reliable performance-minded connectivity to a world of information over the internet and enabling connected devices to communicate with one another in a world of smart devices.   

What are some of the challenges that your company is facing together with its channel partners in the region at the moment?

The biggest challenge remains end customer education and awareness. Most of our products are designed with and concept of a mature market. Once we see this achieved we have seen increase in sales automatically by the partners.

Why should channel partners work with your company in 2017?

For a partner to work with Netgear there would be two main aspects that they should need to consider.Profitability: We have seen our partners drive higher bottom lines when they work with us, both from ROI perspective and long term business. Innovation: It's been Netgear's genealogy to be the first-to-market on a lot of SKUs be it business or consumer. Our partners can definitely take advantage of the same.

Is there enough distributor support made available to resellers in the region?

This is an ongoing exercise where there is learning every day. Our current distribution setup is working hard to meet these evolving requirements as per the business needs.

What trends are shaping your company's planning for the future and the entire channel sector in the region?

The IoT concept is what is driving Netgear's future growth. The explosion in the connected devices along with every growing need to deliver rich media content is fuelling this growth across all sectors.

What should resellers be doing to better themselves especially now that the PC market has continued to decline?

We have seen partners refocus on segments which they are seeing future growth. We are happy to see that most of them have already reshaped their business model based on the same and others are following suit and improvising the same.

Is the regional IT channel as an industry in a strong position for growth in this year?

We have had seasonal effects on the business but are optimistic that we will see growth for the rest of the year.

What in your view will drive growth in the regional IT channel in 2017?

The IoT along with connected homes and lower costs for handheld devices are basically driving the growth worldwide for IT. This will be going on for a very long time due to acceptability and need of implementations across different strata of the society.
