Sharjah Tatweer Forum (STF) has announced the fourth edition of its Sharjah Leadership Program, which aims to empower young people and provide them with the skills for leadership roles.

The SLP is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This year's program will run from November 2016 till May 2017 at the premises of the American University of Sharjah.

Partners for SLP include Ministry of Economy, Bee'ah Sharjah Environment Company, American University of Sharjah as an academic partner, Al Etihad airlines as an airline partner; in addition to Sharjah Business Women's Council, Petrofac, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Emirates Islamic Bank, and Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC).

"The importance of the SLP is in being an additional initiative that supports the national efforts to direct young leaders towards the latest global trends, practices, knowledge and experience, enabling them to make a positive impact in enhancing the competitiveness of Sharjah and the UAE. What makes this program special than the others is its key topics, including science of leadership, entrepreneurship skills, innovation and creativity, and change management which along with other vital themes help the nation shift to a competitive knowledge-based economy in line with UAE's Vision 2021 led by informed, innovative and creative nationals," said Jassim Mohammed Albloushi, Chairman, Sharjah Tatweer Forum.

"The SLP complements the vision of HH Sheikh Dr Sultan who has emphasized that the future of the nation depends on capacity building of its human resource," added Albloushi. "We look forward to its fourth session with confidence and optimism which has proved to be successful in its previous sessions, especially in terms of encouraging investment in the optimization of the human capital and deepen and enrich the knowledge of the young future leaders to lead the UAE towards sustainable development."

"The fourth edition of the SLP comes as a quantum leap in terms of raising the young leaders' efficiency in various functional environments and administrative tasks based on a pragmatic approach of integrated and successful management. It sheds the light on the best international practices and experience which will activate their role in enhancing the progress of the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular. This falls in line with the ambitious goals to position the UAE as one of the world's most advanced countries in the next few years," concluded Albloushi.
