DGEP's hosts ninth annual government best practice event on theme of Youth Government
The ninth annual Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices opened today, on the theme of ‘Youth Government, Future Government'.
The forum is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and is organised by Dubai Executive Council's Dubai Government Excellence Program.
The event is focused on sharing examples of best practice in government, from the UAE and other nations, to help promote a culture of excellence and innovation in government work.
HE Abdullah Al-Shaibani, the Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, commented: "Dubai Forum for the Government Best Practices has become a benchmark for events designed to entrench a culture of excellence and promoting government work to the highest levels of performance. In our keenness to provide the latest trends in every edition of the Forum, we follow the vision and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai - May God protect him - to activate the role of young people and their positive participation in the community and the different sectors of the government as outstanding leaders in the government of the future, aiming to transform innovation and creativity into the foundation of the architecture of government work in Dubai and U.A.E. generally."
Dr Ahmad Al-Nuseirat, the General Coordinator of the Dubai Government Excellence Program added: "Based on the insights and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai - May God protect him - we committed ourselves in the Dubai Government Excellence Program to strengthen creativity and excellence in performing Government work across a range of activities, events and leading initiatives, including the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices which comes this year to consolidate the role of youth in leading the future.
"This forum enhances the youth's standing as an essential and active element in the process of development and construction, since building a sustainable, outstanding future will only be achieved through cooperation among all components of the community of individuals, institutions, government bodies and private companies. It depends primarily on the efforts and energies of young people who make up the broader group in our society, and to whom we look up to for creating an advanced future based on creativity and innovation."
A new edition to this year's Forum is the ‘Excellence Talks' series, inspired by TED Talks, in which a number of outstanding Emirati youth present a short talk based on their own achievements and experiences, to inspire compatriots and share knowledge. The talks include sessions on a wide range of topics, to take place over the two days of the event.
The Forum also includes a dedicated ‘Best Practices Cinema', which is showing videos of young achievers from the UAE and around the world, sharing their experience.
