Epson is showcasing its range of printers and projectors at GITEX Technology Week.

The ink tank solution (ITS) range delivers low cost printing and eliminates the need of cartridge. Also on display is the WorkForce Pro range of business printers, which offer a cost-effective and energy efficient alternative to laser printers, consuming up to 80% less power. Used with Epson’s Replaceable Ink Pack Solution (RIPS) technology, WorkForce Pro RIPS printers can print up to 75,000 pages.

Epson sales and marketing manager Khalil El-Dalu says: “The technology that we use makes us different. Competitors are using thermal technology in inkjet printers where they heat the ink and the ink is then fired onto the paper, whereas in our case we do not heat the ink, we just use crystal elements built inside the printer head. When you apply electric pulse, the crystal element expands, ejecting the ink outside and onto the paper. So you can use better ink like pigment ink which is water resistant, heat resistant, and produces laser-like text.”
