Mindware pushes solution agenda
Mindware is looking to shift its focus towards being a solutions focused company.
At this year’s GITEX Technology Week 2016, Mindware, an IT value-add distributor and affiliate of the Midis Group, is looking to shift its focus away from being a solely products focused company, towards being a solutions focused company. The company is also looking to capitalise on GITEX’s value as a networking event.
“We are building what we call a marketplace. So part of our business will be traditional distribution job and the other part will be to push our marketplace,” explained Gilbert Lacroix, general manager at Mindware and member of the advisory board at Midas.
“GITEX is still good for networking. It is actually a place where you meet people ... that’s why we are here.”
Commenting on what he expects to the top IT trends of 2017, Lacroix expects Cloud to continue dominating the discussion.
“We are still at the beginning of the cloud, because we are still doing a lot of things in the traditional way. If you look at most companies in the UAE or wider Middle East, or even in Europe, they still do 90% of what they used to do the same way they were doing it five to seven years ago,” explained Lacroix.
“If you ask me, for the next five years, the majority of the development will be on the cloud,” he concluded.
