Etisalat’s focus this year at GITEX 2016 is ‘Sparking Innovation’. Given the growing focus on Internet of Things and M2M technologies, Etisalat’s participation highlights ‘smart’ projects of the future, which are inherently built on IoT and a well-connected infrastructure.

Dr Ahmed bin Ali, senior vice president, corporate communications, Etisalat Group says: “Etisalat is introducing concepts and ideas based on strong technologies and bringing world-class solutions and services that facilitate not just end-users, but also businesses and governments for a better future. When we say that innovation is at the core of Etisalat’s operations, we do not only mean it in terms of telecom technologies. We are also paving the way for smarter digital solutions and applications that will mobilise people, businesses and the government sector for a better tomorrow.”

Some of the main highlights include connected retail — a fully connected interactive ‘lifestyle shopping’ experience with Etisalat’s portfolio of services, digital education platforms, connected transportation, connected healthcare, industrial IoT, and smart home technologies.

The stand also features robotics and virtual reality entertainment. RoboThespian and SociBots are the interactive humanoid robots on the stand.
