Dubai launches WiFi service in limousines, plans to expand to taxis
Dubai Taxi Corporation says service now available in all 113 limos in bid to increase customer satisfaction levels
Dubai Taxi Corporation has introduced a free WiFi service on board all its limousine fleet with the aim of enhancing customers' satisfaction.
All limos have been fitted with the service which will gradually be broadened to cover all DTC cabs, according to a statement.
Dr Yousef Mohammed Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation, said: "Limousines of the DTC offer a great and unique service tailor-made to the needs of our clients in the tourist sector such as hotels, airline companies and other related public or private entities. The service is available from Dubai to all other emirates 24/7."
He said the DTC has signed an agreement with a specialist provider of WiFi services to make it available in all 13 limos, adding that the move is part of the Road and Transport Authority's endeavours to "open new horizons and set new trends in offering high-quality services".
In August, it was announced that the number of taxis in Dubai is set to grow from 5,000 to 7,000 by 2021 with the number of limousine-style taxis rising from 113 vehicles to 500.
