Riverbed Technology, the application performance company, has said announced it's participating at GITEX Technology Week 2016 to give show visitors the opportunity to experience the ‘Future of Networking'.

The vendor intends to use its appearance at GITEX to unveil its latest Riverbed SteelConnect, Riverbed SteelCentral and Riverbed SteelFusion solutions.

Through its collaboration with Microsoft, Riverbed will also showcase its solutions for optimisation and visibility for the highly popular Office 365, SharePoint and Azure platforms.

Taj ElKhayat, regional vice president, Middle East and Africa, said: "SD-WAN represents the future of networking and is a market that will rapidly grow to $6 billion in 2020. Riverbed is at the forefront of this technology revolution and we will use GITEX as a platform to educate attendees on how this approach can solve the complexity in hybrid clouds and networks, improve efficiency and flexibility, and enable them to easily shift workloads and deploy new applications and services."

ElKhayat explained that comprehensive end-to-end visibility will be another focal area for Riverbed. He added that through the company's recent acquisition of Aternity, Riverbed has now added end-user experience monitoring to the already impressive set of capabilities of its SteelCentral portfolio.

"With the increased use of mobile devices, virtual desktop environments and the cloud, the ability to manage end user experiences has become more important and complex for IT organisations," he said.

He pointed out that the new SteelCentral release delivers greater integration with Riverbed's SD-WAN solution, extends monitoring to any endpoint, and is now available as-a-service from the cloud.

Elkhayat added that at GITEX, Riverbed will also have presence at Microsoft's booth as a platinum level sponsor, where it will showcase demonstrations for its SteelHead and SteelCentral AppInternals 10 solutions to support Microsoft customers as they embrace their journey into the cloud while achieving visibility, optimisation, and control.

"We will deliver live demonstrations to explain how customers can enhance their experience with the Azure infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform through the optimisation that our integrated SteelHead solution delivers," he said.

With its latest update, SteelFusion, Riverbed's hyper-converged branch IT solution, will be offered in two new deployment options to give customers greater flexibility on how they transform distributed infrastructure into a software-defined edge that is agile, secure, and cost-effective.
