Start-up Marhababy won the Create@Alibaba Cloud Startup Contest and will now visit China to compete in the finals

Alibaba Cloud, DSOA announce winner from start-up contest Marhababy one the Create@Alibaba Cloud Startup Contest (CACSC).

Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group, and Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), jointly announced start-up Marhababy winner of the Create@Alibaba Cloud Startup Contest (CACSC).

During the contest, ten local technology start-ups covering multimedia, gaming, e-commerce, online-to-offline (O2O), social media and Internet of Things, participated in the regional finals. However, Marhababy was selected as the winner and will now compete in the world final in China later this year.

Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak, deputy CEO of DSOA, said: "We remain dedicated to support the local technology entrepreneurship scene and our collaboration in this startup contest accurately demonstrates our commitment.

"Since establishment, DTEC has enhanced the status of entrepreneurship in the UAE and the wider region, by providing an ideal environment for start-ups and tech-enterprises. We are excited to work closely with Alibaba Cloud on this initiative and provide entrepreneurs with a great opportunity to interconnect and access global resources."

CACSC is an extension of Alibaba Cloud demonstrating its commitment in providing sophisticated cloud computing technologies and services to the Middle East region. The start-up culture in Middle East has seen unprecedented growth and contribution from developers and businesses inspired by technological innovations.

Alibaba Cloud also collaborated with Souq, Careem, Payfort, Entrepreneur Middle East, Pegasus FZ LLC, Dubai Internet city, In5, Flat6labs, CH9 and CBH at the Dubai session.
