The French Tech pavilion, a Business France initiative, will host 22 French exhibitors and start-ups that specialise in digital technology, at GITEX Technology Week.

The exhibiting firms operate in an array of sectors including network and software solutions, M2M and mobile applications, IT security, and telecommunications. Plus, the four start-ups are Bell & Wyson, Famoco, Plussh and Think & GO NFC.

The French Tech pavilion will also be home to Reunion Island's Regional Investment and Innovation Development Agency, NEXA, which will bring five companies to the exhibition to promote the capabilities from within the French overseas territories.

With the help of Business France, the exhibitors will be amongst an estimated 500 start-ups attending this year for the opportunity to meet over 200 VC's and potential investors in the region. The start-ups will also be competing for the chance to win $1m at the GITEX Start-up competition.

Fayssal Majid, the project manager of the French Tech pavilion for Business France, said: "We wanted to offer French exhibitors a tailored program that supports them throughout their development in the Gulf region. We will have a reception area set up at each of the two pavilions to direct visitors towards the French exhibitors. By taking part in GITEX, they can take advantage of our knowledge, meet new customers, and develop strong ties with local decision makers."

During GITEX, Bell & Wyson will unveil its BW Bzzz LED bulb, which traps and kills harmful insects and will be on sale at the beginning of 2017. Wassa will present Deeplytics for face identification and Visioblur for professional video conferences. Bertin IT will introduce CrossinG, MediaCentric and Media Speech software for protecting people as well as enterprises and state interests. Think & Go will present the its connected screens integrating contactless payment: connected screens able to interact with all connected objects.

The French companies exhibiting at the French Tech pavilion will be in Hall 4 and the Start-up Zone will be in the Zabeel Hall.

GITEX will run from 16-20 October 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
