Careem inks deal with Etisalat
Telco signed as first partner for Careem Wallet
Car booking app Careem has announced a partnership with Etisalat as it launches its new payment platform dubbed Careem Wallet, for booking car rides.
According to the company, Careem Wallet allows customers to pay for car rides using Etisalat's Reward points or choose to earn Etisalat Reward points as they use Careem services.
Etisalat is the first partner to integrate into the Careem Wallet platform.
Khaled ElKhouly, chief consumer officer at Etisalat said: "We are excited to offer our Rewards members an innovative means to earn and burn Etisalat Reward points in partnership with Careem . Now our members can enjoy free rides by simply redeeming their accumulated reward points or earn more reward points every time onboard a Careem. This is yet another endeavour from us to provide enhanced value to our customers for being with Etisalat."
Selim Turki, product market fit director, Careem, said the company is delighted to have Etisalat on board as one of its key partners. "Both Careem and Etisalat are on the same page when it comes to understanding the need for innovative new products that meet the unique needs of the consumer," Turki said.
Turki added that Careem will continue to work with leading partners in the region such as Etisalat to offer ground-breaking solutions that aim to simplify people's lives.
To use the service, all customers have to do is go to the ‘Wallet' screen inside their Careem app, look for Etisalat on the top-up section, use their phone number to log into their Etisalat account and they will find their total Etisalat Rewards points, which can be completely or partially redeemed into Careem credits. To earn Etisalat rewards points, simply click on Etisalat on the ‘Earn rewards' and enjoy accumulating points with every Careem ride.
