Cybersecurity specialist A10 Networks has formed a technology partnership with Cylance today aimed at enhancing cybersecurity for both users and specific endpoints, beginning from the data centre all the way up to the cloud.

Announced as part of the recent Black Hat USA 2016 event in Las Vegas, the OEM agreement will see the incorporation of A10's SSL Insight and Thunder Convergent Firewall (CFW) into Cyclance's anti-malware engine.

Commenting on the partnership, Gunter Reiss, vice president, strategic alliances, A10 Networks said: "For more than a decade, A10 Networks has engineered our products to deliver secure, agile application networking technologies.

"Cylance's novel next-gen AV will augment the innovative A10 Thunder SSLi and Thunder CFW solutions to offer increased security for governments, gaming companies, healthcare providers, financial institutions and other markets facing critical security threats."

The OEM agreement will also see the expansion of A10's security capabilities for endpoints and network services. This is achieved through an additional layer of protection designed to predict and prevent malware and advanced threats, via an artificial intelligence-based file classification process.

Additionally, CylanceProtect is expected to complement A10's Thunder SSLi and CFW systems, introducing high-speed SSL decryption for end-user traffic, as well as protection for both inbound and outbound encrypted email traffic.

Joel Bauman, vice president of corporate and business development at Cylance, said: "With A10 Networks and Cylance as technology partners, customers can take advantage of next-generation anti-malware threat prevention at both the endpoint and the perimeter."

He added: "Cylance is pleased to partner with A10 Networks to provide a solution that not only delivers cutting-edge anti-malware capability through predictive artificial intelligence, but also acts to complement and optimize A10 customers' existing investments in other security tools and processes."
